Can we inspect into custom adaptors in debug mode without causing a backlog?

Apr 15, 2011 at 6:48 PM

When I was debugging into my action adapter inspecting the measurement data, this paused the stream of data that came through and seemed to cause a backlog.

Is there a way built into openPDC to be able to inspect data in a frame without stopping rest of the data from flowing through? Something that could allow us to branch off and be able to inspect/process a frame of data while letting the rest of the data to flow through?

Thanks

From debug mode, anytime you break the system will pause all threads and create a back log.

It's best to serialize important information to a log file or use the "Status" property to enumerate crititial information about your adapter.

You can also place strategic Debug.WriteLine() instances in the code to monitor critical variables...
